Sales Manager or Sales Leader
I think it might be time for us to review the use of manager versus leader when it comes to the sales professionals, and, for that matter, every other professional as well.
The world is rapidly changing and what we need is more leadership and less management. Management is too focused on measuring activities and results. It loves numbers because it makes the job of a manager easier.
Leadership is about creating an environment where people can be the best version of themselves. It is harder to cultivate this culture, but it will deliver superior results. People don’t want to be treated as a resource; they want to be treated like a person. If you take the time to invest in the person, and help them achieve their goals, they will impress you with their results.
