Despite the talk about work / life balance and the importance of leadership, improved compensation was by far the top choice among respondents. This may be especially true given recent economic conditions and the rising costs of just about everything. I hope, however, that people aren’t substituting money for the opportunity to find a meaningful position, doing high quality work with worthy coworkers, for a great company.
